Travelodge Harrow

On the back of a series of successful Travelodge projects, we were introduced to M&P Developments to help them with their Harrow site. The site’s constraints and complex phasing requirements made value more difficult to achieve, but by working with our preferred subcontractors, we designed a phased timber-frame construction to offer better value than a concrete frame option.

DNA constructed the 102-bedroom hotel in a town-centre location in Harrow with multiple shared boundaries with local residents to consider, and our timber-frame approach minimised disturbance and inconvenience to neighbouring properties. We also championed the use of a Raptor crane to avoid ‘over-sailing’ of materials, and reduced the amount of work required (and therefore the associated costs for our client) in the process.

The building achieved BREEAM Very Good status, and we completed within budget and ahead of schedule, so Travelodge could open for business just before Christmas 2017.
